About the appeal

Please sponsor a piece of the Tibet map and help us Put Tibet Back on the Map!
Each tile is just £5 and here is what we can do if you sponsor one or more tiles:

1 tile for £5 pays for thirty Urgent Action faxes to be sent to world leaders as part of the Free Tibetan Heroes campaign.

2 tiles for £10 tiles will enable us to continue researching information to highlight the importance of Tibet, the earth's Third Pole.

6 tiles for £30 means we can continue to generate advocacy materials that will put pressure on governments to raise the cases of key political prisoners with China.

20 tiles for £100 will pay for the translation and promotion of inspirational music and literature by Tibetans in Tibet, as part of a politically-charged cultural resurgence.

Right across Tibet, Tibetans continue to make a stand against the occupation of Tibet; speaking out for truth, justice and decency despite China's military crackdown. Today there are over 700 known Tibetan political prisoners and more that a 1,000 Tibetans still 'missing' after the overwhelmingly peaceful protests that swept across the Tibetan Plateau in 2008. Now, is the time for us to stand in solidarity with these brave Tibetan heroes and show them that they are not alone.

All funds raised will be shared between the International Tibet Network and Students for a Free Tibet UK, and will be used for powerful, globally coordinated strategic campaigns that will help the Tibetan people in their non-violent struggle for freedom, and to strengthen the global movement that supports Tibet.

About International Tibet Network and Students for a Free Tibet

The International Tibet Network and Students for a Free Tibet UK (SFTUK) are working in together on this project.

The International Tibet Network is a vibrant coalition of nearly 170 Tibet-related non-governmental organisations in more than 50 countries worldwide. We are dedicated to campaigning non-violently to restore the rights of the that the Tibetan people lost when China occupied Tibet sixty years ago.

Our purpose is to maximise the effectiveness of the worldwide Tibet movement by increasing the capacity of individual member organisations, developing coordinated strategic campaigns, and encouraging increased cooperation among organisations, thereby strengthening the Tibet movement as a whole.

SFTUK is a member organisation of the Network, which works in solidarity with the Tibetan people in their struggle for freedom and independence. Here in the UK we work with young and active people to push Tibet to the forefront, education, grassroots organising and strategic non-violent direct action are the tools we use.

Our mission is to empower and to train youth as leaders and our team are strategically campaigning for the Tibetan peoples right to freedom and social justice particularly focusing on Political prisoners and Tibet environment for 2011.
